Gold Roc Diner - West Hartford, CT

Known for being the only place open for late night clubbers, this place attracts those who simply want to fill their bellies. Prices are decent but the convenience of being open 24-hr keeps this place in business. The bathroom stalls are pretty dated but surprisingly clean. I guess when you cater to drunks you have to pay the staff extra to ensure the bathroom is top notch.

Amazing bar with stellar food. The bathroom has an interesting waiting area setup. First impressions say lots, this best smelling public bathroom I have ever been to! Once you enter the area you get a hit by a garden floral like scent. Just think Grandma's house.

Taste of India -West Hartford, CT

No frills bathroom but pretty impressive for an Indian establishment. Bathrooms had hand free soap dispenser and towel dispensers. It didn't smell or urine so someone must be cleaning it properly. Occasionally you will find a wastebasket propping the door open, I'm not sure why.

Vivo Seasonal Trattoria - Hartford, CT

Vivo is known for their amazing dishes and gorgeous interior. Their entrees are amazing and their bathroom looks pretty impressive until further examination. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised when I saw a pile of hand towels available but as soon as I step foot into the stall I noticed the grimy toilet.

This is the lady's room at the Cheesecake Factory in the Center. If you look closely at the sink you will notice layers of thick yellow buildup. Don't let the marble counter top distract you.

Good Hygiene in the Bathroom

Having worked in a hospital for many years has drawn my attention to good hygiene practices. Recently I started taking pictures of public bathrooms and have been shocked at some the discoveries made. Many fine establishments neglect proper cleaning of their restrooms. We must exercise caution when using these germ and bacteria filled stalls.
